Despite the human lockdown, nature soldiers on.
There are a lot of folks discovering that we need plants and nature, but it doesn't really need us.
Spring is happening all around us, and for most people -- in the absence of us. Parks are closed, public gardens are closed, and yet the plants and animals keep on. And in some ways this is refreshing -- it provides some aspects of the world we can depend on in times of uncertainty. But often I find myself looking around my own property and feel sad and conflicted about it.
While there's a lot of hope in the flowers and plants popping up to greet the new season, the world is different. And the world will remain different and changed forever, and so far I just don’t know how to
process that.
